I love the juxtaposition of the mundane and spectacular in this image – the tedium of washday and the splendour of Cnicht, surely one of the shapeliest of mountains, towering to 689 metres. The image is undoubtedly helped by the sun illuminating the clothing while the mountain skulks in foreboding shadow.
