Description
Six years ago, having produced the latest in a host of photography books, I felt a sense of completion to my life which I could never have imagined: married to an incredible woman; father to two beautiful boys; and getting up each day to indulge my hobby which just happened to be my job.
To try and make sense of how this unlikely state of affairs had come about I decided to write it down, as if by committing it to the page it might provide an answer; it did, sort of. With over thirty years of baggage – not all of it good! – to sift through there was to be a lot of writing: a catastrophic injury from gone-wrong motorcycling at the age of eighteen; an incomplete recovery leading to years of despair and darkness; then, meeting the woman of my dreams and stumbling into what felt like someone else’s gilded life – quite the rollercoaster.
“I salute David. This is an inspiring account of sheer determination and bloody-mindedness in building a life and finding happiness in spite of a terrible injury.” Griff Rhys Jones – Actor, Comedian, Writer and Television Presenter
